The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the Department of Epidemiology. The postdoctoral fellow will work with a collaborative team of scientists using data from prospective epidemiologic studies and administrative claims databases to investigate social determinants of diabetes and vascular outcomes. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to work closely with the research team to conceptualize research questions, analyze data, and write manuscripts. Experience with longitudinal data, multilevel analysis, or spatial analysis is preferred. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, medical sociology, or a related discipline, with solid quantitative skills, proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SAS, R), and strong communication skills. Doctoral candidates with a scheduled defense date are welcome to apply. Training resources are available to postdoctoral fellows through UAB’s Office of Postdoctoral Education and the UAB Diabetes Research Center.
